Join Microsoft and Fusion5 for a hands-on, collaborative hackathon designed to help Wellington organisations explore the next wave of AI-powered productivity.

Venue: Microsoft Wellington Office, Level 13

Address: 10 Brandon Street, Wellington Central, Wellington 6011

This practical, in-person event brings together business and technical teams to learn about agentic AI, explore Microsoft Copilot capabilities, and build AI agents using Copilot Studio and Agent Builder in a real-world setting.

Working alongside Microsoft and Fusion5 experts, your team will identify a business challenge, design an agent-based solution, and create a working concept during the day. You'll gain practical experience applying AI to real organisational problems while learning how agents can support productivity, process improvement and innovation.

The day concludes with team presentations, judging, prizes and networking drinks.

No coding experience is required.

During the hackathon, you'll:

  • Learn the fundamentals of agentic AI and where AI agents can deliver business value.

  • Explore Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio and Agent Builder in a practical setting.

  • Identify a real business challenge that could benefit from an agent-based approach.

  • Design and build an AI agent concept with guidance from Microsoft and Fusion5 experts.

  • Present your solution and learn from other teams' approaches.

  • Connect with peers exploring AI innovation and digital transformation.

Who should attend?

This event is designed for organisations looking to explore how Microsoft Copilot and AI agents can support productivity, streamline processes and unlock new opportunities for innovation.

We recommend registering a team of three to six people, ideally including:

  • Business stakeholders who understand key operational challenges and opportunities.

  • Technical, digital or innovation team members who can support solution design.

  • At least one participant with access to Microsoft Copilot Studio, either through your organisation or via a free trial.

Teams that combine business and technical perspectives will get the most value from the day.

To help you get the most from the hackathon, we recommend:

  • Completing some introductory learning through Microsoft's Agent Academy training materials

  • Thinking about business challenges, repetitive tasks or processes that may benefit from an AI agent.

  • Ensuring at least one member of your team has access to Microsoft Copilot Studio.
